Plaintiffs Consider Appealing Ruling on UC Sports Training Center
Three plaintiff groups who filed suit to try to stop the University of California, Berkeley from building a new sports training center next to its football stadium are considering whether to appeal a judge's ruling that allows the project to go forward.

Some of Santa Cruz County workers will soon be feeling the results of the California budget crisis. The county sent home 55 employees this week with layoff notices, which take effect Aug. 27 and are the anticipated cuts in the county's budget this fiscal year. The county says its an inevitable result of the falling economy.
