SALINAS, Calif. - A man shot after leaving a party on Saturday night became Salinas' first homicide victim of the year.

Police say 20-year-old Frankie Espinoza was shot several times after leaving a party on Tampico Avenue.  Officers found Espinoza after friends trying to take him to the hospital crashed their car near the intersection of E. Alvin Dr. and Natividad Road.
