...Sunshine and warmer Friday and Saturday...
Many areas started out with cloudy skies this morning, but the sun was shining this afternoon. Highs today ranged from the mid 60s to lower 70s near the coast to the mid 70s to lower 80s farther inland. The warmest spot was the Pinnacles this afternoon with a high of 83 degrees.
As the upper trough moves east, a weak ridge is forecast to build over the state and temperatures will warm up Friday and Saturday. That will keep the Marine Layer very shallow, but some low clouds and fog will continue along the coast.
As the ridge moves east, another trough begins to deepen along the coast again late Sunday into Tuesday. This will bring more low clouds and fog night and morning hours and cooler temperatures. The outlook through the 23rd of September is for near or below normal temperatures.
The forecast for the Monterey Bay for Friday. Winds north 5 knots becoming west 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Wind waves less than 2 feet. Swell west 2 to 4 feet at 9 seconds. patchy dense morning fog.
