
GILROY, Calif- Two Hispanic males entered the Union 76 Service Station located at 401 First St. shortly after 7 p.m. Monday. After briefly milling about the business, one of the suspects, who was wearing a ski mask, produced a handgun. The suspect demanded money from the lone clerk and the clerk complied without hesitation.
The clerk was ordered to a back room where he remained for several minutes before emerging and calling the police. There were no injuries or shots fired during this event. The exact items/amount taken in the robbery was not immediately available.
The Gilroy Police are also investigating an armed robbery of a convenience store that occurred on January 23, 2010 (10-0343). Investigators are reviewing information to determine if these are potentially related.
