Moss Landing Fight Lands Three Suspects In Jail

MOSS LANDING, Calif. - An early morning New Year's Day fight left one man with stab wounds and landed three men behind bars.

Monterey County Sheriff's Department said just after 12 a.m. Friday they were called to the 1900 block of Highway 1 in Moss Landing for reports of a fight. The victim, Leopald Vargas, had been stabbed twice in the back, after being jumped by three men, according to officers.

Sheriff's said three suspects were located later, identified by Vargas, and taken into custody. Victor Alfonso, 26, Edgar Salazar, 22, and Jonathan Herrera, 21 are being held at the Monterey County Jail.
