Arrest Warrant Issued for Suspect in Watsonville Attack

Watsonville, Calif.  An arrest warrant has been issued for a suspect in the October 29th attack of a 19 year old in Watsonville.

The woman was attacked in the levee area near Lakeview Road.  The woman was jogging when she was pulled from a path.  The victim fought off the attacker and got away but she did have multiple injuries to her face.

The Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office say their suspect is 25 year old Mauricio Lopez.  He was identified after they got a tip for a concerned citizen.  He is being charged him with attempted rape, kidnapping, robbery and battery with serious bodily injury.
