
Monterey, Calif. - At Monterey's city council meeting, angry parents asked council members to step in and stop Bay View Elementary School from closing.
At least 20 parents came to voice their opinions. The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is finding a way to reconfigure its schools and one of the ways to do so is close down Bay View Elementary.
The school board says major changes must be made because of a budget crunch. The council will hold a special meeting for the superintendant and public before the school board makes a final decision on December 10th.
