KCBA - Monterey, Salinas, Santa Cruz - News Weather-Mt. Toro High School Celebrates Veterans Day

SALINAS, Calif - On Tuesday, November 10th at 8:45 a.m. Mount Toro High School in Salinas will honor the nation's veterans in a Special Flag raising ceremony.
The national anthem will be sung by Ashley Gonzales, a 2009 MTHS graduate. The Social Studies teacher, Ken Dean will provide students with the meaning of Veterans day and the names of students' family members currently serving in the military will be read as part of the honor list.
Veterans that work for the district will be given a certificate thanking them for their service.
MTHS will also observe a moment of silence for those who lost their lives at Fort Hood, Texas as well as all others who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their nation.
