Fire Forces One Person From Their Home

CARMEL HIGHLANDS, Calif - Early Tuesday morning just after 2:30, CalFire responded to a house fire right behind their fire station in the Carmel Highlands. The fire was in a home at 99 Corona Road, south of Point Lobos State Park.

The fire started in the kitchen, it was caused by a candle that had not been put out. The home sustained minor damage with an estimated cost of $5,000.

Fire crews were able to put the fire out quickly. No one was hurt.

The person living inside the home has been displaced. Red Cross is on scene.
