Arrests Made in Special Santa Cruz Police Op

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Law enforcement agencies in Santa Cruz County announced the arrests of more than 20 gang members in the City of Santa Cruz.

In all, officers contacted some 45 gang members. Those who were arrested now face weapons and drug charges.

The arrests come after a special operations sweep that included a two-month undercover drug sting.  That operation netted five arrests of drug dealers.  Police say five other known drug dealers are still being sought and they have warrants for their arrests.
