Monterey, Calif- The SPCA rescued an owl from the Save Mart in Sand City on Tuesday afternoon. They got the call from Save Mart saying an owl was stuck in the store, camped out in the beer and liquor aisle. The SPCA of Monterey County says the owl was likely sucked in through a vent due to the high winds yesterday. It was quite the chase up and down the grocery store to catch the little guy.

Two SPCA wild life workers ran all over the store with nets trying to get the bird out of there. For two hours this owl flew from beer displays to the paper towel section. He was even spotted scoping out a snack, "Probably the best part of the day was he was hanging from the seafood sign upside down kind of like a bat, and over the loud speaker we heard, SPCA could you please come to the seafood department," said Rosanna Leighton.

The SPCA was able to eventually catch the owl and he was taken to their wildlife center for care. He was healthy and after a few hours, the SPCA was able to release the owl back into the wild.
