Members of the police union are considering a vote of no confidence for Interim Police Chief Stephen Willis, Interim Deputy Executive Officer Don Macquarrie, and City Manager Ray Corpuz.
In August City Manager Ray Corpuz placed Police Chief Steven Cercone on paid administrative leave and brought in Interim Police Chief Stephen Willis and Interim Deputy Police Chief Don Macquarrie to oversee the department.
This has prompted the city's Police Officers Association to consider a motion Thursday night to hold the vote of no confidence.
Central Coast News has been on the phone and in Seaside trying to confirm if the vote has passed and as of Friday Afternoon there is no word for the Police Officers Association and the City Manager won't comment.
Many residents in Seaside are concerned about the whole situation. Both the city and the police department have remained tight lipped about the whole situation due to strict California laws.
The community wants to know why Corpuz has put Chief Cercone on paid administrative leave and why his replacement, who according to the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training, doesn't even have the qualifications to serve in his post.
