SALINAS, Calif- Following several recent attacks on elementary school janitors one local school district is making a change and stepping up its security.

According to Business Operations and Safety Manager, Jerry Stratton, from the Salinas Union High School District, although schools are already safe, it is important to have extra security for workers to feel safe early in the morning, and at night.

Stratton says that A private security officer will be driving around many middle schools and high schools in East Salinas. School employees also have a number that they can call if they see anything suspicious or need a private security escort.
