MARINA, Calif- Arnulfo Romero, a 42-year- old Marina man, was found guilty of committing felony lewd acts on a child under the age of 14.
Romero was a neighbor and family friend of the victim's family. The victim, an 8-year-old boy, would play video games at Romero's home, with his two sons of similar age. On more than one occasion, Romero enticed the victim into his home by waving dollar bills at the child, while no one was watching. After molesting the victim, Romero would give the eight-year old money and tell the child to tell no one of the touching.
The child disclosed the acts of molestation to school officials after attending class where good touches and bad touches were explained.
The defendant will be sentenced on August 12, 2009 at 8:30a.m. and faces a maximum sentence of 3 years in prison. Pursuant to Penal Code 290, he will also be required to register as a sex offender for life.
