Oakland Unified School District have altered plans for Wednesday during the power shutoffs. School officials now say all schools will remain open, except Skyline High School. The district had earlier announced on Tuesday that 12 schools would close for classes on Wednesday to prevent the sparking of a wildfire from its equipment. However, after PG&E informed Alameda County that it would not be impacted by the shutoff until noon, the district decided to keep all schools besides Skyline High open.
Skyline, located at 12250 Skyline Blvd. in the Oakland hills, is closing due to “its unique location in the hills and related transportation challenges,” the district said.
-All San Leandro Unified Schools will close Wednesday. If outages last beyond Wednesday, school officials will notify parents of further closures. Notifications will be sent and posted prior to noon on the day prior
-Niles Elementary and Vallejo Mill Elementary are the only Fremont Unified School District schools listed as impacted by possible outages. However there are no plans for school closures at this time.
