OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Photographer Michael Sparks posed a question on Instagram, along with a stunning photo: When will the next lightning storm ever come?

Well, the National Weather Service has an answer: Likely, this week.

Meteorologist Steve Anderson said there will be three rainstorms to hit the Bay Area starting on Wednesday and lasting through Sunday morning. Friday is the best chance at this point to see lightning, the weather service is predicting.

Here’s the breakdown of when the rain should hit:

Wednesday: Should appear in the North Bay about noon, and then the Greater Bay Area during the rush-hour commute. Anderson said the rain won’t be that heavy, but the drive might be “treacherous” because of all the oil and dirt already on the roadways, proving for a slick ride.

Friday: Should appear in the North Bay about noon, and then the Greater Bay Area between 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. This storm will be “more powerful, with more wind and rain,” Anderson said.

Saturday: This rainfall should last all the way through Sunday morning.
