Santa Cruz Surf Instructor Pleads No Contest to Sex Crime Charges
SANTA CRUZ, CA – Santa Cruz surf instructor Dylan David Greiner, 39, entered a plea of no contest in Santa Cruz County Superior Court today. He faces 23 different charges including allegations that he committed lewd acts on two underage girls and hid a video camera in his surf school’s dressing room.
Greiner was visibly upset in court day as his two sisters spoke in defense of their brother’s character. Police detectives say they found a video camera in the dressing room at Santa Cruz Surf School that secretly recorded girls as they changed into wetsuits and bikinis. Santa Cruz Superior Court Judge Timothy Volkmann sentenced Greiner to three years in state prison. He was arrested in August 2013 and will receive credit for time served.
