(Salinas, Ca – Entravision / KCBA FOX 35)  Two Salinas teenagers are in custody today, suspected of the beating and robbery of a 51-year-old man on Sunday.    The victim says he was walking home on Towt Street when the two teens struck him in the head, repeatedly beat him and robbed him of his identification and bank cards.  Authorities say the two sped away in their silver pickup.

Police spotted the vehicle leaving the scene and the two were arrested after a high speed chase.  Arrested were 19-year-old Manuel Chan and a 17-year-old Hispanic juvenile.  Police say both are members of a gang in Greenfield.  Chan was booked into the Monterey County Jail.  The younger suspect is being held at Juvenile Hall.
