San Francisco’s Lombard Street Closed

San Francisco’s famed Lombard street will be off limits to cars this week. The San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted to close the famous crooked part of Lombard, a big tourist attraction, for four weekends this summer, the first being this weekend. It’s part of a pilot program responding to complains about all the heavy traffic and swarms of tourists in the surrounding neighborhoods. You will still be able to walk on the sidewalk and the people who live on that part of Lombard street will still be able to drive to and from their homes.
